Το θραύσμα // Die Scherbe
(The Shard)
‚One might well say that a man’s living humanity decreases to the extent that he renounces thinking.‘
Hannah Arendt
A short sound piece, composed of found audio material, music quotations and collective recording bits.
The music theater collective FrauVonDa//storytelling in music juxtaposes sound layers of the most diverse origins, mixing historical with contemporary sound elements, militaristic soundscapes with liberation songs, and in the process touching upon the frightening proximity of good and evil, of liberation anthems and the sounds of manipulative, seductive power mechanisms – a meditation on the fragile, difficult, contradictory and perpetual process of democracy, baptized in ancient Greece. It was then that the very first judgment votes were carved into tiles.
